Welcome To My Blog

If you are into talking about the Kansas City Chiefs, this is the place to be. I am Aiken_Drum and I am a Chiefaholic. If you are too, great! Let's discuss this team that we inexplicably love to follow. Don't be afraid to be critical here. Positive or negative, they are all thoughts about the Chiefs. Also, do not tell ANYBODY here that they shouldn't respond in a certain way. You don't like what they said? Just stop commenting. Be the bigger commentor.

Wow!! Six Weeks Into The 2015 Kansas City Chiefs Season Aiken's Predictions Are Proving Correct!!

This is Carnac The Magnificent.  I studied Crystal Ball at his school of Prestidigitation and Precognition.  Apparently it worked!  Look at Aiken's prediction of the Kansas City Chiefs season so far and look at it's reality...in some ways exactly the same and in others just slightly different details contribute to the overall picture being perfect!!

I must say that to me, these predictions were very easy to make.  The vast majority of Chiefs fans and on a larger level football pundits of all stripes have encountered one of the biggest swing and a miss moments concerning the Chiefs season since Herman Lee Edwards was leading the charge in KC.  Honestly, I don't see how they didn't see what I so clearly saw...namely, the demise of Andy Reid, Alex Smith and Jon Dorsey.  It wasn't difficult and it wasn't elusive. It was clear as day, and anyone who denies it now is just being stubborn.

I have now been on the Get-Andy-Reid-the-hell-out-of-KC-and-throw-Alex-Smith-and-Jon-Dorsey-with-him train for a couple of years now.  Much to the chagrin of Chiefs fans everywhere, but especially to those fan bois on a very well known Chiefs Blog who simply want to remain sheep and go along to get a long with the ownership of the Chiefs.  I personally think it's ridiculous to 'hope' that something will be great when you can see the undeniable truth that it isn't, right before your eyes.

Andy and Alex are the same two bumbling fools that they have been for the last 10 years or so.  Since Andy won his one and only NFC Championship, he's really been pretty much of a mess.  If not for Jim Johnson running the Eagles defense and Donovan McNabb having both the attitude of a winner and the athletic ability to turn Andy's chickenshit coaching ability into chicken salad at times, I seriously doubt that Reid would have ever achieved even the limited success he did.  Reid is not a winner when the season is on the line and I documented that pretty clearly here.  Actually, Reid isn't a winner without a gargantuan effort from his friends (cue Joe Cocker now) at all.

Alex is nothing more than another first overall in the draft mis-pick bust that Reid decided to hang his hat on as the savior of the pitiful Chiefs franchise that has been used as a coaching retread laboratory for most of the last 40 years.  Jesus folks, when will you all scream enough! with appropriate volume to wake the Hunt family out of their Soccer induced coma?  That is what it's going to take to get this fixed.  But enough of that sour grape, let's move on to another, less advertised bunch.

Anybody seen this guy lately??  I have.  Wait, I think I have, yep here's a picture...

Looky there!  He changed colors and logos.  On Sunday, you will get a chance to see what he can do with a solid offensive line, and if Dez can go, a pretty legit WR corps.  He's even got what the pundits are referring to as star potential in one Christine Michael as RB, but Matt is quite familiar with solid RB support having spent time with Charles in KC and Kevin Faulk in NE.  It's gonna be quite an interesting show.  Matt has never had all the pieces at his disposal and an owner/HC telling him to air it out and win since Kraft/Belichick.  If I remember correctly, he had back to back 400 yard passing games that year. Did pretty well back then.  Read all about that and more here.

Will Matt produce outstanding numbers next Sunday?  Who knows.  He recently stated that playing in a Cowboys uniform was fulfilling a childhood dream.  Good for you Matty, good for you.  See what can happen if you eat your wheaties and keep your nose to the grindstone?  It couldn't have happened to a more deserving person, particularly after the shameful way you were treated after injury in KC.  It wouldn't shock me in the least to see Matt connect up with Dez, Terrance Williams and Jason Witten for hefty point and yard totals.  He'll be playing the Giants and their DST is gonna have some trouble with the Dallas line.  It could be great.  Whatever happens, it is going to be quite fun to watch and consider, what could have been.  Ah, the glory.

Here's another guy to think about next Sunday.  He will be a bit easier to think about because he will be IN Arrowhead, calling the plays for the Steelers.  The Steelers who may just have the services of Big Ben Cheeseburger, er Roethlisberger.  Todd's changed colors and logos too.

Ah, to wax nostalgic.  To imagine what could have been had Pioli not screwed the pooch.  I fully believe that Pioli was the culprit in the Todd Haley debacle in KC.  What's more, I think that Clark knows it now as well.  It's why he went hard after the Walrus and gave him carte blanche.  It's just too bad that the Walrus and the Carpenter saw that oyster coming right off the bat (what with the Royals playing the Blue Jays right now for the ALCS I figured at least one baseball reference was appropriate).  Oh my friends, it hurts to be this right.

Predictions?  How about this one?  The Chiefs are 1-5 with 10 games left to play.  Those 10 games include 2 with San Diego, 2 with Oakland and one more with Denver.  Besides those five, the Chiefs have to play the Steelers, the Lions, Buffalo, Baltimore and Cleveland.  IF the Chiefs can split with SD and Oak and beat either Detroit or Buffalo that gives them five big wins for the season.  If that happens, Andy Reid goes to 25 and 23 over three years in KC.  If he can only get 4 he winds up at .500.  That's the equivalent of going 8-8 three seasons in a row.  Is that what we've been waiting for?  Eh, let me say, no.

With the way this team has looked so far this season and the way the AFC west teams have been playing, it would not completely surprise me to see the Chiefs not win another game this year.  If that happens, I sincerely hope that Andy Reid is gone from KC long before the last game of the season is played.  In any case, I think the numbering has begun on how many games there are left for Reid to continue to collect his pay from this working retirement he was able to secure.

I for one, can't wait to move on.  Keep your fingers crossed and just keep watching.  The ugliness isn't over just yet.

Keep the faith Chiefs fans.  Oh and Andy, you might wanna...not
